Veterinary Adoption

Since its introduction, fenbendazole has been widely used in veterinary medicine to treat parasitic infections in dogs, cats, livestock, and poultry. Because of its effectiveness against a broad range of internal parasites, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and certain tapeworms, it has become an important tool in controlling animal parasitic infestations.

Ownership Evolution

Fenbendazole's ownership has navigated a complex path, transitioning through several major pharmaceutical entities. Its journey, reflective of the industry's frequent mergers and acquisitions, eventually saw Merck acquire it in 2009 after merging with Schering-Plough. This narrative underscores pharmaceuticals' dynamic and evolving landscape, where rights and formulas often change hands, shaping the drug's commercial trajectory.

Human Breakthrough

Steve Beddingfield was dying as a result of cancer, Lyme disease, and Morgellon disease. When he read about ivermectin in his research, he bought a tube of horse paste from the local feed store, thinking it was ivermectin. As soon as he took some, his body changed for the better. It turned out not to be ivermectin at all. Because of his failing vision, he misread the label, which was Fenbendazole. He is alive and well today.
